About Gateway to the Sea:

This website is primarily to disseminate information to the HOA members (homeowners) in the Bay Haven community. Gateway to the Sea Homeowners Association Inc. is a non-profit
corporation that was established in 1987. Upon completion of the building project, the administration of the HOA was transferred from the developer to the homeowners in 1989.
Membership is mandatory for homeowners. An organized, rule-based system is essential to maintaining the high-quality characteristics of the common area. The HOA board is composed of   volunteer "resident" homeowners elected by the HOA members and supported by some key individuals who help with special projects from time to time. Their mission is essentially to protect and maintain the private community park by the bay. The park characteristics have unique and pristine qualities that offer special enjoyment of the surrounding natural preserve which requires special care. It is a valuable characteristic to the real properties located in the Bay Haven neighborhood. Subject to its rules and regulations, members have the privilege to enjoy the natural beauty of the park and to gain access to the private community pier and boat ramp. The footprint of the facilities sits nestled inside environmentally protected land. Thankfully, over the last 30 years on behalf of the 106 property homeowners, a distinguished group of volunteer Board Members have exhibited exemplary leadership , worthy of the title , “Guardians of the Gateway”: Robert Ballinger(RIP), George Ancheta, and Wil and Barbara Pena have been extraordinary servants to the community; dedicating years of personal sacrifice to protecting the homeowners common interests. Non-Board members like Lyle Sendlein , Ed and Mary De Barros, and some anonymous others like them, who share the same passion for preserving our little piece of paradise -- have contributed to the maintenance of the park and supported the Board activities. Without the board’s selfless commitment and process-oriented approach, the park could have been subjected to public administration years ago. So, when you see one of these individuals, don’t harass them with unreasonable expectations. Instead, thank them for their service. For a detailed list of the duties performed by the Board of Directors on your behalf, you may reference the GTTSHOA Charter. Members and residents may register to access the private group FACEBOOK page and share your experiences as well as to communicate among your neighbors.
